Pollman’s, a long-standing safari company established in the 1950s by Karl Pollman, specializes in safari experiences and international travel packages. Africa Travel Investments, a European-based firm, also operates within the safari and travel sector.
According to CAK, the acquisition is not expected to harm competition among tour operators in Kenya or raise concerns of public interest.
Kenya, renowned for iconic safari destinations like Maasai Mara, Amboseli, and Tsavo, attracted 2.5 million tourists last year. The government aims to raise this number to 7 million annual visitors by 2027, according to President William Ruto.
The country’s tour operator sector currently includes 322 active companies, among them Bonfire Adventures, Bountiful Safaris, and Aanika Karibu Safaris, creating a dynamic market for investors.
