227 Stolen Phones Recovered in Kawangware and Riruta.

Police in Nairobi have apprehended two suspects and recovered a large haul of electronic devices believed to have been stolen during an operation conducted in Kawangware and Riruta.

According to a report logged at Muthangari Police Station (OB No. 3/06/04/2026 at 0043 hours), officers acted on intelligence that led to the arrest of 20-year-old Teddy Anyanga over the theft of a mobile phone in the “46 area” of Kawangware.

Authorities said the suspect later guided officers to Riruta, where he had allegedly sold the phone to Sam West, resulting in the arrest of a second suspect, Juma Knoly Omollo, aged about 23.

A search at Omollo’s residence uncovered numerous electronic items, including eight laptops, four iPads, and 227 mobile phones of different brands.

Among the recovered phones were 149 iPhones, 39 Samsung devices, 13 Redmi, three Oppo, five Vivo, five Tecno, two Nokia, two Infinix, four Itel, and one each from Google, Ultra 2, HMD, Nothing, Honor, and Huawei.

Police also seized 16 dismantled phones, 14 phone covers, a 55-inch TCL television, a 6kg gas cylinder, and an LG wireless soundbar.

The two suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court.
