U.S. Vice President JD Vance is expected to visit Kenya next month following his attendance at the G20 summit in South Africa, a source familiar with the plans told Reuters on Monday.
According to the source, the trip to Kenya is scheduled for November 24 to 27, though details of his agenda remain undisclosed. Kenya, a key U.S. ally in Africa, has been seeking to finalize a trade deal with Washington before the end of the year.

The U.S. designated Kenya a major non-NATO ally in 2024, reflecting growing bilateral cooperation, even as Nairobi continues to balance relations with both Washington and Beijing.
Neither Vance’s office nor Kenya’s foreign ministry has commented on the planned visit.
President Donald Trump has tasked Vice President Vance with representing the U.S. at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg on November 22–23, where South Africa will hand over the rotating presidency to the United States.
