Police in Mombasa have arrested two individuals believed to be gang members, following reports from concerned residents about armed youths loitering near Kadongo Stage in Kisauni.
The suspects were apprehended late Wednesday night at around 11:45 pm after officers from Mjambere Police Station responded swiftly to the tip-off.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the suspects armed with pangas (machetes). Several others reportedly fled before police could apprehend them.
The two arrested individuals remain in custody and are expected to be processed and formally charged in court.
The National Police Service (NPS) commended the public for their vigilance, stating: “We appreciate the public’s continued support and urge everyone to remain alert and work closely with law enforcement to keep our communities safe.
