ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has issued a stern warning to party members considering leaving the party.

Sifuna made it clear that he is committed to staying in ODM, and those who are no longer willing to advocate for Kenyans should feel free to leave.
Speaking during a church service on Sunday, Sifuna pointed out that some members have lost sight of the party’s core values.

“There are members of ODM who have forgotten the party’s origins and its purpose. Some are telling me they’re tired of fighting for Kenyans, that they weren’t born to be in the opposition, and they’re weary of advocating for Kenyans’ rights,” Sifuna said.
“I want to make it clear that I will keep standing for the truth. If something is wrong, it’s wrong, and we’ll call it out. Those who are tired of fighting for Kenyans and standing for what’s right should leave ODM.”
Sifuna emphasized that the struggle to liberate a country is difficult and may take time.
“Some of you joined ODM just recently, only two weeks before nominations, and already you’re exhausted,” he remarked.
Earlier, Sifuna had stated there is no agreement between ODM and the ruling UDA party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I can say with certainty, there is no deal between ODM and UDA for 2027. And as I’ve said before, no matter how many leaders you gather, if you’re unpopular, you will still lose the election,” Sifuna asserted.
“I am confident in this because the people know what they expect from a government. If those needs aren’t met, it won’t matter how many parties you have. We lost with 26 parties.”
The ODM Secretary General also noted that while ODM and UDA are working together at the moment, ODM is clear about maintaining its identity.
