Siaya: Woman Surrenders to Police After Stubbing Boyfriend to Death

After reportedly stabbing her partner to death on Saturday night in the Mur-Ngiya sub-location of Siaya County, a 28-year-old lady is being held at the Siaya police station where she appeared.

Due to alleged infidelity, Vivian Akoth allegedly attacked and stabbed her 35-year-old partner Charlton Obare.

Grace Otieno, the assistant chief of the Mur-Ng’iya sub-location, claims that the deceased and his other companion Reagan arrived home at around 9:00 p.m., and that the girlfriend promptly followed them. She claimed that when Reagan heard a disturbance on the way out, Vivian sped by him in the dark as Charlton, whom she had previously stabbed in the chest, pursued her.

When Charlton became overwhelmed, he collapsed, the Assistant Chief informed the press.

After learning that Charlton had fallen, Otieno said, Vivian contacted Reagan to check on him and then sent a motorbike to transport him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Assistant Chief, who confirmed the occurrence, Vivian had vanished by the time the police arrived at the scene and transported the body to the mortuary at Siaya County Referral Hospital.

They later learned that Vivian, a single mother, turned herself in to the Siaya police station, where she is being held while the case is being investigated.

Otieno used the occasion to urge young people to resolve conflicts in a friendly manner.
