Comedian Sammy Kioko has intensified his dispute with the Machakos County Government, alleging that he was mishandled when he went to follow up on pending payments.
Kioko staged another sit-in at the county offices on Monday, February 17, 2026, documenting the encounter in a video that he shared publicly to highlight what he says he endures each time he seeks his dues.

In the footage, the County Executive in charge of Finance is seen dismissing him angrily. Kioko expressed concern that a leader expected to address grievances and offer solutions instead reacted with anger and raised her voice at them.
Addressing the Finance Minister directly in the video, Kioko questioned why she appeared upset and asked what wrongdoing they had committed. He also played an audio recording of their exchange to back up his claims that they have previously faced hostility and rough treatment while pursuing payment.
In the audio, Kioko is heard saying their lives have stalled as they wait for their money, only to be interrupted by the minister, who responds that she is not responsible for their predicament. She further states that she is unwell and directs them to the Chief Officer in charge of Finance before dismissing them.
The comedian maintained that his only interest is receiving his payment, rejecting suggestions that he is being used to advance any political agenda.

At one point in the recording, the minister is heard saying she does not have money, is unhappy, and is unwell, as she declines to engage further with Kioko’s concerns.
Kioko said he has exhausted all possible channels and reached out to various officials without success. Lamenting the situation, he questioned the lack of empathy in the handling of his case, arguing that those tasked with resolving issues appeared to be escalating them instead.
