Ruiru Sports Club Set to Host 2024 NCBA Golf Series This Weekend

This Saturday, the spotlight falls on the Ruiru Sports Club as it gears up to host the 2024 NCBA Golf Series, marking the fourth stop on the Series calendar that commenced earlier this year in March.

Expectations are high as over 200 golfers prepare to converge on the par-72 course, with the first tee-off scheduled for 7:00 am. Competitors will be contending for prized positions at the Series Grand Finale, slated to take place later this year at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

Expressing enthusiasm for the upcoming event, Ruiru Sports Club captain, James Muraguri, remarked, “We are delighted to once again welcome the NCBA Golf Series to Ruiru Sports Club. The course is in impeccable condition, and we anticipate witnessing some outstanding golfing talent on display. Our club members and the local community are eagerly looking forward to being part of this prestigious event.”

NCBA Group Managing Director also shared his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to return to Ruiru for the second time since the inception of this series in 2021. Witnessing the remarkable growth of the tournament, with an ever-increasing participation, is a source of pride for all of us at NCBA. Ruiru presents a challenging course, and we eagerly anticipate the test it will provide this weekend. Our goal is to ensure a rewarding experience for our stakeholders in Ruiru, as we have consistently delivered in our past events.”

The Ruiru leg follows the third leg of the series held on April 6 at the Eldoret Sports Club, where James Chirchir emerged victorious in the Division One category with a round of 41 points. In the Ladies category, Miriam Wanjiku claimed victory with a final score of 36 points.

Cheptoo Johana secured victory in Division 2 Men’s category with 36 points, while Satwinder Sagoo emerged as the winner in the Ladies category with an impressive 40 stableford points. Additionally, Anita Cherop displayed exceptional skills in Division 3, clinching victory with 33 Stableford points, while junior golfer Ryan Tolgos secured victory in the junior category with a score of 100 gross.
