According to police, the victim, who lived alone, had head injuries and was discovered lying in a pool of blood with his jacket covering the body. A bloodstained stone suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered at the scene. The motive of the killing remains unclear. The body was taken to the mortuary for postmortem.

In Tana River County, a 40-year-old man was killed after unknown attackers raided Takamba village in Bangale. Police said the assailants stormed a tented settlement and attacked residents, leaving one man dead and another injured. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Investigations into the motive of the attack are ongoing.

In a related incident in Bura, four armed men ambushed a 30-year-old herder, Muhamud Abdi Elema, and shot him dead at a watering point. Police recovered two 7.62mm × 39 cartridges at the scene and suspect the shooting was an act of revenge linked to a previous killing. Security officers have warned of possible retaliatory attacks as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in Machakos County, an 88-year-old man, Samuel Muoka Mathai, died in a fire at his home in Mbuku village, Kathiani.
His charred body was discovered in the kitchen on Thursday morning. Police said the elderly man, who had been physically disabled for six years and lived alone, was last seen alive the previous night. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are underway.

In Cherengany, Trans Nzoia County, a 32-year-old man, Amos Kipruto, was found dead under a tree after reportedly being assaulted by locals over claims of stealing three sacks of maize from his uncle.
Police said Kipruto had been beaten, taken home, and later moved outside to bask in the sun, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have condemned the rising cases of mob justice and urged residents to hand over suspects to authorities instead of taking the law into their own hands.

All the bodies have been taken to local mortuaries pending autopsies and further investigations.
