Controversial preacher Victor Kanyari has broken his silence regarding the unexpected passing of his younger sister, Starlet Wahu.
Reports indicate that Pastor Kanyari was taken aback upon learning the tragic news of his sister’s murder.
He shared that they had spent time together during the Christmas holidays, and despite the family being unaware of the murder suspect introduced by Wahu, he did not notice anything amiss.
“I am heartbroken; she was doing so well in life. We last met on Christmas, and on December 31, we spent time together at home. We had not seen the man before. We learned about him after her death. This is so tragic for us, the family, and even her friends. May her soul rest in peace,” stated the preacher.
Police from Industrial Area police station discovered Wahu’s lifeless body early Saturday morning in an Airbnb apartment in the South B area.
CCTV footage released by the police revealed Wahu entering the Y32 in Papino apartments South B with a man on Friday night, later identified as the prime suspect, John Watara, aged 30.
The police received an alert from the apartment’s management on Saturday morning, leading them to the scene where Wahu’s body was found in a pool of blood. The door was reportedly locked from the outside, and police had to break in to gain access.
Judith Nyongesa, the police commander in Makadara, confirmed the incident, stating that the victim likely bled to death.
Initial investigations suggested that Wahu had bruises and stab wounds on her thighs, and she appeared to have attempted seeking help before succumbing to her injuries just a few steps from the main door.
The crime scene yielded the discovery of HIV testing kits with negative results, used condoms, a mobile phone, alcohol, the victim’s clothes, and a knife believed to be the murder weapon.
