Police in Nyamira County are probing the death of a four-year-old girl whose body was discovered in an abandoned house in Gesima village on April 28.
Authorities say the motive behind the killing remains unclear. The child’s body showed injuries to the head and face, and her clothes were found torn. She had been living with her grandmother in the area.

The body was taken to the mortuary for a postmortem examination, as investigators continue to follow leads. By Wednesday, no arrests had been made.
In a separate incident in Marafa, a 56-year-old man, Ruphus Muganga, was found dead outside his home.
According to his wife, they were inside their house on Tuesday night when unknown individuals called him outside. Moments later, she heard him scream. When she went to check, she found him lying in a pool of blood with serious injuries.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the attack. The body was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy as investigations continue, with officers pursuing those behind the killing.
