A police officer lost his life, and two others sustained injuries on Thursday when an improvised explosive device (IED) hidden in a donkey cart exploded at the Mandera border crossing point of Ina Bari in Mandera County.
The explosion occurred at 9:50 AM immediately after the cart stopped at the border police checkpoint. The deceased officer succumbed on the spot, while the injured individuals were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
Authorities are promptly responding to the incident, launching investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack, as stated in a police report.
