Kenya Power has cautioned customers against engaging with its customer-care account on X after the account was accessed without authorisation.
In an alert issued on Saturday, October 3, 2026, the electricity provider said it was working to regain control of its customer-care account, @KenyaPower_Care.
The company advised customers and members of the public not to engage with posts appearing on the account until further notice.
Kenya Power said the account had experienced unauthorised access and that efforts to recover it were ongoing.
The utility also warned customers not to respond to messages sent from the account or follow any instructions communicated through the compromised platform.
Customers seeking assistance were instead directed to Kenya Power’s other official communication channels while the recovery process continues.
These include the company’s main X account, @KenyaPower, its Facebook page, Kenya Power Care, Instagram account @kenyapower and TikTok account @kenyapower.
Customers can also access services through the *977# USSD platform and the myPower App.
Kenya Power said it would provide a further update once the issue has been resolved, while thanking customers for their understanding and vigilance.
