During a recent service in Nairobi, Ng’ang’a paused his sermon to invite the man to the front of the congregation, formally introducing him to church members. The pastor explained that the man had reached out to him by phone and was later invited to attend the service.
Dressed in a red shirt and grey suit, the man confirmed he was indeed the one who had been slapped twice by Ng’ang’a. Unexpectedly, he said he was open to being slapped again if it brought him spiritual relief.
“It’s no problem, as long as I receive healing and the gospel continues,” he said in Swahili.
He added that he was willing to be an example to others in the church, especially those who fall asleep during service.
“Let me be a lesson to others. You can’t hold on to demons or obstacles and expect God to live in you. That slap was a blessing,” he declared.
He went on to share his spiritual struggles, including recurring dreams involving a “spiritual wife”—a term often associated with demonic manifestations in dreams. Despite engaging in prayer and fasting, the dreams persisted until he sought help from Pastor Ng’ang’a, who prayed for him and slapped him during the deliverance.
“You slapped me twice. One wasn’t caught on camera. I fell, you prayed for me, and I felt liberated,” he recalled.
Speaking about the most recent slap during a Friday service, he admitted he had dozed off unexpectedly.
“I came to hear the word. I don’t even know how I fell asleep,” he said.
Following the testimony, Pastor Ng’ang’a defended his actions, saying discipline is part of love.
“When you love a child, you correct them. Even my master, Jesus, found people selling in the temple—He overturned their tables and drove them out,” he told the congregation.
