The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has reassured its members of the integrity of the upcoming grassroots elections.
Cleophas Malala, the Secretary-General, stated that the elections would be digitally conducted, marking a significant step forward for democracy in the country.
Addressing the issue on Saturday, Malala affirmed, “I want to assure you that the UDA elections scheduled to commence on the 26th will be conducted with fairness and transparency. UDA is pioneering grassroots elections, spanning from polling centers to national levels.”
Malala encouraged aspiring leaders to seize the opportunity to cultivate their leadership aspirations.

UDA intends to conduct staggered grassroots elections in specific counties this month in preparation for county and national-level elections later in the year.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua engaged in discussions with UDA party leadership on Tuesday in anticipation of the planned grassroots elections.
Gachagua emphasized that the meeting aimed to enhance the party’s strength and commitment to fully realizing the UDA Manifesto through collaborative efforts.

This meeting followed a prior gathering between President William Ruto, Gachagua, and the UDA National Steering Committee (NSC), which outlined the roadmap for the party’s grassroots polls.
The initial phase of UDA elections is slated for April 26, 2024, covering seven counties: Nairobi, Narok, West Pokot, Busia, Homabay, Isiolo, and Garissa.
The subsequent phase, scheduled for June 22, 2024, will encompass 13 counties, including Mombasa, Uasin Gishu, Nyandarua, Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Kisii, Bungoma, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Wajir, Tana River, Kwale, and Marsabit.

On August 10, the third phase will unfold across 15 counties: Kiambu, Embu, Kericho, Meru, Migori, Kakamega, Nyamira, Kitui, Elgeyo Marakwet, Samburu, Kajiado, Mandera, Kilifi, Murang’a, and Lamu.
The final phase, scheduled for August 24, 2024, will encompass 12 counties: Nakuru, Bomet, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nandi, Baringo, Turkana, Laikipia, Trans-Nzoia, Kisumu, Vihiga, and Makueni.
