The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has expressed concern over the sudden and unexplained transfer of activist and software developer Rose Njeri, who had been held at Pangani Police Station since her arrest last week.

LSK President Faith Odhiambo, speaking outside the station on the morning of June 3, 2025, revealed that a legal team arrived shortly after 7:30 a.m. only to learn that Njeri had been moved just minutes earlier.
“We call on all LSK members to stay alert today. We are working to establish which court she will be taken to, as Rose Njeri was transferred from Pangani Police Station early this morning,” Odhiambo stated.
She added that Njeri’s lawyer, Sam, who has been representing her throughout, was present at the station but was informed that she had already been taken away.
The LSK is actively tracing Njeri’s location and seeking to determine the court where she will be arraigned.
“We are following up urgently to find out her current location and the court of her arraignment,” the LSK President said.
She further appealed to lawyers nationwide to remain vigilant and report promptly if Rose appears in any court, so that she can be properly represented or assisted immediately.
Rose Njeri was arrested on May 30, allegedly for developing a digital platform that enabled public engagement on the contentious Finance Bill 2025.
Her arrest has drawn widespread criticism from civil society groups, the tech community, and political leaders, many of whom defend her actions as lawful and in the public interest.
The LSK has pledged to continue fighting for her release and safeguarding her constitutional rights.
