Two police officers were hospitalised on Wednesday afternoon after a suspect turned violent and bit them during an attempted arrest in Bungoma County.

According to reports, three officers from the Namwela Police Post in Sirisia were attempting to apprehend a suspect wanted for malicious property damage when the situation escalated.
The incident occurred in Stabicha village, where the suspect allegedly became aggressive and bit two of the officers—one on the shoulder and the other on the hand—causing injuries.
The wounded officers were initially treated at Kaptenai Dispensary before being referred to Sirisia Sub-County Hospital for further medical care.
The third officer, who was not harmed during the altercation, successfully subdued and arrested the suspect.
Western Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud stated that the suspect will face charges of malicious damage to property, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officers. He also confirmed that the injured officers are in stable condition.
