The political feud between President William Ruto and Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reached a boiling point, with the Wiper Party issuing a stern warning to the Head of State to “desist from affronting” their leader.
The exchange follows a series of “bare-knuckle” attacks from President Ruto, who recently labeled Musyoka a pessimist for questioning the government’s ambitious development agenda.

In a biting Friday statement, Wiper leaders claimed the President’s outbursts are the signs of a leader who is “politically cornered.”
A Battle Over Infrastructure Legacy
At the heart of the latest clash is the Kibwezi-Mutomo-Kitui-Bondoni road. While the current administration has touted the project as a success of its development plan, the Wiper Party provided a different historical account, accusing Ruto of past sabotage.
-
2011: Wiper asserts Kalonzo Musyoka launched the project while serving as Vice President.
-
2013: The party claims elements within the Jubilee administration (where Ruto was DP) wrote to the EXIM Bank of China to kill the project, calling it “not economically viable.”
-
Present Day: Wiper argues that Ruto is now attempting to “claim credit” for a project he once tried to derail.
“A Three-Year Disaster”
The party’s statement did not mince words regarding the current state of the nation, describing the Kenya Kwanza administration as a “three-year disaster.” They accused the President of acting like a “dictator in democratic clothing” and presiding over the looting of public resources.
“Ruto knows what every Kenyan knows: his time is up,” the statement read. “In his desperation, he has unleashed his digital militia to destroy what he cannot buy: Kalonzo Musyoka’s integrity.”
The opposition further alleged that key national assets—including JKIA, Kenya Pipeline, and Safaricom—are being “auctioned off” to foreign bidders and presidential allies without proper public participation or legal adherence.
Visions of 2027
The war of words comes as President Ruto unveils a massive Sh5 trillion “Road to Singapore” development plan, aimed at elevating Kenya to first-world status within ten years. Kalonzo Musyoka has remained the plan’s most vocal critic, dismissing it as both “unrealistic and constitutionally flawed.”
Wiper maintains that the President’s attacks are a strategic attempt to weaken opposition strongholds ahead of the 2027 General Election. They reaffirmed that Musyoka remains the “anchor of Kenya’s restoration” and will not be intimidated by government “mudslinging.”
