The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its application portal for students seeking admission to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the September 2026 intake.
According to KUCCPS, the application window will remain open until August 11, 2026, giving prospective students an opportunity to apply for various medical programmes offered at KMTC campuses nationwide.

In a public notice, the placement agency encouraged aspiring healthcare professionals to submit their applications through the KUCCPS student portal before the deadline.
The new application window follows an earlier intake whose application period closed on May 6, 2026.
At the same time, KUCCPS is processing applications for inter-institutional transfers and course changes for students who were recently placed in universities and TVET institutions.
The transfer exercise, which closes on August 14, 2026, is open to candidates from the 2023, 2024 and 2025 KCSE cohorts.
The overlapping admission and transfer processes have prompted many applicants to seek clarification on whether students already admitted to universities or those who have requested course or institution transfers are still eligible to apply for the KMTC September intake.
Some applicants have also sought guidance on whether transfers between KMTC, TVET institutions and universities are permitted.
Speaking after the release of the 2026 placement results on July 9, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome said students are allowed to change their programmes provided they meet the minimum entry requirements for their preferred courses.
She noted that students who discover they are not comfortable with their current programmes, including those admitted in previous years, have an opportunity to transfer during the first two years of study.
In addition to the KMTC intake, KUCCPS is also conducting a late application exercise for degree programmes targeting candidates who sat the KCSE examinations between 2022 and 2025.
The placement agency said this is the first time it has introduced a late application window for university degree programmes.
According to Wahome, applicants who meet the required cut-off points receive placement immediately after submitting their applications through the KUCCPS student portal under the Late Degree Application option.
