He stressed that unrealistic expectations can create unnecessary pressure and anxiety among men.
“With my 30 years of experience working with sex workers and globally, if you gathered a group of men with their partners and started them at the same time, most would finish within 7 minutes. The idea of lasting 30 minutes or an hour is just a myth,” Stanley explained.
He continued, “An average man lasts 7 to 10 minutes, and if it’s only 3 minutes, we have a problem. Seek counseling; we can help. The use of blue pills, which sometimes even leads to death, must stop.”
He emphasized the importance of safe sex, enjoying the experience, and making sure your partner is happy. Through open discussions, Stanley aims to boost confidence and promote healthy sexual relationships.
His journey into activism came from personal experiences and a deep passion for saving lives. In an interview with Dr. Ofweneke on TV47, Ngara shared his journey, struggles, and the origins of his unique title.
A dream of joining the military led to an unexpected path. Ngara recalled his ambition to join the army in 1994, but despite starting as a boxer and undergoing training, he missed the opportunity. Not wanting to give up on his dream entirely, he created his own version of military attire, which he still wears today as a symbol of his fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Ngara’s decision to distribute condoms was born from personal tragedy. He lost many friends to HIV/AIDS, both male and female, which motivated him to start handing out condoms to help others avoid the same fate. The grief from these losses drove him to become a passionate advocate for safe sex.
His efforts earned him the title of “King of Condoms” in 2012 after visiting Kenyatta University. Comedian Sleepy David and others awarded him the title, recognizing his dedication to distributing condoms and educating students about safe sex. What began as a playful nickname evolved into his brand identity, which he embraced wholeheartedly.
Today, Ngara is not only known for his condom distribution but also as a sex education expert. During the interview, he shared that he has an extensive library on sex education and knows 365 different sex positions—one for each day of the year. He believes that, just like farmers learn about agriculture, people should be taught about sex. His knowledge helps couples maintain a healthy, satisfying sex life while prioritizing safety.
Stanley Ngara has become a key figure in sexual health advocacy, combining humor, education, and activism to make discussions about safe sex more approachable and less stigmatized. Through his ongoing work, whether on the streets or in media, the “King of Condoms” continues to promote a healthier and more informed society.
