The victim was found about 40 metres from his home, lying in a pool of blood. Officers noted a rungu tied to his waist but observed no signs of struggle at the scene, suggesting he may have been killed elsewhere before his body was dumped.

Separately, tragedy struck in the Mua area of Machakos County when 20-year-old Mwanzia Muthama was buried alive after a heap of sand he was harvesting caved in.
He was in the company of a loader at the time. Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
