Several areas across three counties will experience planned power interruptions on Monday, February 16, 2026, as routine maintenance works are carried out.
In a notice shared on X, Kenya Power informed customers that the scheduled outages are necessary to facilitate system upgrades and ensure stable electricity supply.

Residents and businesses in the affected zones have been urged to make prior arrangements.
Nairobi County
Parts of Pangani and Akiba–Kabiyet will be without power from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Pangani, the outage will impact areas including Forest Inn, Forest Road, Mbono Road, Pangani Shopping Centre, Agoi Road, Ndovu Inn, Pamba Road, Premier Academy, Jubilee Headquarters, and nearby customers.
In the Akiba and Kabiyet areas, the blackout will also run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting Kabiyet, Akiba, Moi Educational School, Civil Servants area, Uhuru Camp, Langata Deliverance, parts of Dam Estate, Uhuru Camp Police Station, Total Gas Station, Mbagathi Road, Jonathan Clog School, Airport View Estate, Bible Society, sections of Langata Road, and surrounding customers.
Kajiado County
In Kajiado, areas around Ilasit will experience power disruption from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Locations set to be affected include Loitoktok Town, Tarakea, Ilasit, Kimana, Rombo, Elerai, Isinet, Namelock, Inchalai, Itilal, parts of Mbirikani, and neighbouring areas. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly, especially for electricity-dependent activities.
Kericho County
Parts of Bureti in Kericho County will face outages from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The blackout will cover Jamjii Powerhouse, Jamjii Town Factories, Changoi Town Factories, Kipkereny Village, and adjacent customers.
The company emphasised that the maintenance work is aimed at improving reliability and safety within the network. Customers in all affected areas are advised to switch off appliances and adjust their schedules to minimise disruption.
