Kareh B Demands Justice After Son’s Tragic Death in Chavakali Boys’ School Bus Accident

Mugithi maestro, Kareh B, now a grieving mother, is demanding answers and justice following the devastating loss of her son in a tragic road accident involving a bus carrying Chavakali Boys High School students.

Expressing her anguish on social media, Kareh B disclosed that despite being a parent at Chavakali Boys for four years, she was not informed of her son’s death nor offered condolences, alleging attempts to cover up the incident.

Addressing the authorities, Kareh B raised poignant questions, directing her frustrations towards Chavakali Boys for their lack of communication, the Education Minister for permitting minors to travel at night, and the Transport & Roads Minister for apparent oversight in enforcing safety measures.

The grieving mother’s plea for justice and accountability has sparked outrage on social media, with the hashtags #JusticeForJoe and #Chavakali gaining momentum as the community rallies behind Kareh B in her quest for answers.

The accident occurred on the Kisumu-Kakamega road, at the notorious black spot known as the Coptic area. Reports from Charles Kisiengo, the base commander of Kondele police station, indicate that it was a self-involving accident, with the driver losing control of the vehicle near the Mamboleo junction.

“We responded well in time and managed to pull out the trapped students, unfortunately, we lost one,” stated Kisiengo.

The injured students were swiftly transported to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment, where 33 students were admitted, with 30 at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and three at Nightingale Hospital.

Eyewitness Stephen Wasuna recounted the harrowing scene, describing the bus overturning with a loud thud, alarming nearby residents. Local residents assisted the police in rescuing the trapped students, who were then transported to the hospital using police vehicles and ambulances.

As investigations into the accident continue, Kareh B mourns the loss of her son and awaits the accountability she seeks from those responsible. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive road safety measures, particularly concerning the protection of young lives.
