Inspector-General of the National Police Service (NPS), Douglas Kanja, visited Kiamariga Police Station in Nyeri County following a fire that caused significant damage to the facility.
In a statement released by NPS on Saturday, November 15, 2025, the service confirmed that Kanja toured the station on Friday, November 14, 2025, to assess the aftermath of the blaze.

The fire reportedly destroyed key parts of the station, including the armoury and records office. The Nyeri County Government Fire Brigade, supported by police officers and local residents, managed to contain the fire successfully.
Kanja expressed solidarity with the officers affected by the incident and assured them that the damaged buildings would be repaired promptly.
He also commended the swift cooperation between the police and the local community, describing it as a strong example of effective community-police partnership.

During the visit, Kanja encouraged officers to strengthen community policing as a key approach to crime prevention.
He thanked the personnel for maintaining professionalism and discipline despite the disruption caused by the fire, urging them to continue enforcing the law fairly and firmly.
