According to a post seen by The Star, Nyakera, who shared images from their meeting, emphasized that the Mt Kenya region is more united than ever—despite the apparent fallout between President Ruto and Gachagua.
Nyakera expressed gratitude to Gachagua for offering guidance and encouragement.
“The mountain may have been shaken, but it stands more united than ever. Thank you, Your Excellency @rigathi, for your wisdom and counsel,” Nyakera wrote.
Following his dismissal, Nyakera was replaced by Samuel Waweru. In recent months, Nyakera, although serving under the Kenya Kwanza regime, had voiced criticism of some of its actions.
Gachagua has been engaging with several leaders who appear to have fallen out with the Kenya Kwanza government. He has also been reaching across the aisle, holding talks with opposition leaders such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa (DAP-K), and Martha Karua (PLP).

These meetings have largely taken place at Gachagua’s residences in Wamunyoro and Karen.
He has also announced plans to launch his own political party in February, signaling his intentions to strengthen his influence ahead of the next General Election.

His allies have confirmed that preparations to unveil the new political outfit are complete, as Gachagua moves to solidify his support base in the increasingly volatile Mt Kenya region following his ouster.
