The family of former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zachary King’ori Mwangi, has confirmed his demise. According to a statement released by the family, Mwangi passed away on Sunday while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
The family’s statement read, “We wish to inform the public of the death of Mr. Kingori Mwangi, a retired police officer. Kingori passed on this morning at a Nairobi hospital where he was receiving treatment. The family will update the public on the burial plans.”
Zachary King’ori Mwangi served as a Provincial Police Officer (PPO) in various regions, including Mombasa, Nairobi, and Western, before being appointed as Assistant Inspector General. Following his police career, he transitioned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he served until his retirement.
Throughout his career, King’ori held prominent positions such as Director of Operations at police headquarters, police spokesman, Director of Kenya Police Campus in Kiganjo, and Principal Assistant. The news of his passing marks the end of a distinguished and impactful career in law enforcement.
