Most parts of the country are expected to remain dry over the weekend, although the Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast isolated rainfall, chilly conditions and strong winds in some regions.
In its latest weather outlook for July 3 and 4, Kenya Met said dry conditions will dominate across much of the country, with rainfall mainly affecting a few areas in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley.
The department added that some sections of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley are likely to experience intermittent cloudy and cold weather.

Kenya Met also warned of strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) in parts of Marsabit, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Makueni, Kitui and the coastal counties.
Despite the generally dry outlook, rainfall is still expected in parts of the Rift Valley, Nyanza, Western Kenya and Central Kenya over the coming days.
The forecast is consistent with the department’s weekly outlook for June 30 to July 6, which projects rain in the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley and the Coast.
In western Kenya, some areas are expected to receive morning rainfall, followed by isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms, with a possibility of night showers in a few places.
For the Highlands East of the Rift Valley — including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi counties — mornings are likely to remain cloudy, with occasional rain in some areas before sunny intervals develop. Isolated afternoon and night showers are also possible.
Meanwhile, the north-eastern and south-eastern regions are expected to remain mostly sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night.
Kenya Met said temperatures above 30°C are likely in parts of the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya, while some highland areas will continue experiencing cold nights.
According to the department, minimum night temperatures below 10°C are expected in some areas of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and areas around Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The department noted that Kenya will continue experiencing varied weather conditions during the period, with dry weather remaining the dominant feature despite isolated rainfall in some regions.
Residents in areas expected to experience strong winds have been urged to remain alert, while those in regions forecast to receive rainfall should prepare for possible afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
The forecast comes as the country continues to experience the cool season, which is typically marked by cold mornings and evenings in the highlands, occasional rainfall in some areas and warmer conditions across arid and coastal regions.
