Police in Kitui Central Sub-County have launched investigations into the death of a 76-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a nearby thicket.
The victim, identified as Mariah Musyoka, was found at Ngiini Village in Kalundu Sub-location. Officers who arrived at the scene reported that the body was lying face down and had visible injuries to the face.

She was found without clothing, with some of her clothes and a container of milk recovered nearby.
Initial reports indicate that she had left home on Wednesday morning at around 9:00 a.m. to purchase milk from a local shop but did not return. Investigators believe she may have been attacked by unknown individuals while heading back home.
The scene has since been documented, and the body taken to Kitui County Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Authorities say inquiries are ongoing as detectives follow leads to establish what happened.
