A knife believed to have been used in the attack was recovered under a kitchen table; it reportedly lacked a handle. Nyagah, who ran a salon in the area, was last seen at home on February 28, when she spoke to her daughter via video call.

Her daughter discovered the body after she failed to respond to later calls, prompting authorities to move the body to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

The suspect had been missing prior to turning himself in. Police have not yet established a motive, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities said homicide cases like this are being closely reviewed as part of wider efforts to combat rising violent crime.
