The cabinet secretary for East Africa, ASAL, Penninah Malombe while distributing relief food to the for Kitui Central residents on Friday urged ukambani leaders to remember that their strength lies in their unity.

Malonza disclosed she had not only came to kitui to distribute relief food but also to assess the progress of crucial projects like the Umamaa Dam that the national government is doing.
“It is vital that we oversee these developments to ensure they benefit our communities as intended,” she said.

“I am aware that there may be disagreements among leaders regarding the distribution of relief aid. However, let us put aside our differences for the greater good of our people. The residents of Kitui Central have expressed their gratitude for the assistance received and have pleaded for more support. It is our duty to heed their calls and provide for their needs,” she added.
