Kitui County’s Minister in charge of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Fredrick Kimanga, emphasized the importance of improving urban infrastructure in the county, citing its rich potential and active community.
Kimanga announced a significant initiative aimed at boosting prosperity in key trading centers. Working alongside local stakeholders, the Ministry for Housing and Urban Development will lead the installation of ‘Mlika Mwinzi’ street lights in various areas including Kitui Town, Mwingi-Kwavonza, Mutomo, Kunda Kindu, and Sombe.
These street lights are not just fixtures; they symbolize opportunities for the business community to thrive with a 24-hour economic system, fostering continuous productivity and growth. Kimanga highlighted the broader benefits beyond economic prosperity, emphasizing the enhancement of safety and security for residents. By illuminating the streets, the initiative aims to eliminate darkness-related risks for pedestrians and businesses, creating vibrant and secure environments conducive to both family activities and business growth.
Kimanga concluded by expressing the initiative’s alignment with the county’s commitment to progress, urging collective action to seize the opportunity for a brighter future.
