Popular Kenyan comedian Sammy Kioko has announced the closure of his fashion shops and production units, citing difficult operating conditions that have made it impossible to sustain the business.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media platforms, Kioko expressed deep regret over the decision, saying it was made after exhausting all possible options to keep the business afloat.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we’re announcing the closure of our shops and production areas,” he wrote. “Despite our best efforts, we’ve faced significant challenges that have made it impossible for us to continue operating. We want to express our deepest gratitude to our loyal customers, supporters, and team members who’ve been part of this journey. Your encouragement has meant the world to us.”
The comedian, who launched Kioko Designs KE in Westlands, Nairobi, had been celebrated for venturing into the fashion world, providing stylish suits and custom designs. His brand quickly gained popularity among fans and celebrities alike.
Kioko, however, hinted that this may not be the end of his entrepreneurial journey.
“Not a goodbye, but a see you later. We won’t get tired of knocking the county offices. God above everything,” he added.
Fans have flooded his page with messages of encouragement, praising his resilience and creativity both on and off the stage. Many have also commended him for inspiring young artists to explore business opportunities beyond entertainment.
While the closure marks a setback for the comedian’s business venture, Kioko assured his followers that he remains hopeful and will continue seeking opportunities for a comeback in the near future.
