Boda Boda Rider Killed, Motorcycle Stolen in Kisii

A boda boda rider was brutally murdered and his motorcycle stolen in the Emenwa area of Nyamache, Kisii County.

Police identified the victim as Brian Oseko, 25, whose body was discovered early Thursday morning, October 9, 2025, lying along the Emenwa–Makonge Road. His motorcycle was missing from the scene.

According to police reports, the deceased had head injuries consistent with a violent attack. Fellow riders said Oseko had earlier been hired by two men for a trip to Gitae village, but the passengers allegedly turned on him mid-journey, killing him and fleeing with his motorcycle.

Police have launched investigations into the murder and appealed to riders to cooperate with robbers in such situations to avoid loss of life. The body was moved to the morgue for post-mortem examination.

Human Remains Found in Kericho Farm

In a separate incident, police in Londiani, Kericho County, are investigating the discovery of human remains at a carrot farm in the Chemare area.

A farmer stumbled upon a skull, bones, underwear, socks, and a bedsheet believed to have been used to wrap the body while harvesting carrots.

Locals suspect the remains belong to Stephen Kimani, a 42-year-old man who disappeared in August 2012. Police believe the victim may have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the farm. The remains were taken to the mortuary for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and confirm the identity.

Caretaker Found Murdered in Nakuru

Meanwhile, in Teachers area, Nakuru, police are probing the killing of Erastus Kingori, 55, who worked as a caretaker in a residential house.

Residents reported hearing screams before discovering Kingori dead with severe neck injuries on Wednesday morning. The attackers are believed to have fled immediately after the assault. The motive of the killing remains unclear, and the body has been moved to the mortuary for post-mortem.

Murder Suspect Arrested in Murang’a

Elsewhere, police in Kandara, Murang’a County, have arrested a man suspected of murdering another in Kiguoya village.

Authorities said the suspect, apprehended days after the killing, is expected to be arraigned in court on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Police have expressed concern over the rising cases of murder across the country, saying investigations are ongoing to bring perpetrators to justice.
