Applicants must present their original national ID and academic certificates, along with one set of photocopies, at the recruitment centers.

Additionally, candidates must provide a certificate of good conduct, be prepared for medical examinations during and after the recruitment process, undergo intensive physical training, and be willing to volunteer anywhere in Kenya.

Successful applicants will attend the NYS paramilitary course at the NYS Paramilitary Academy in Gilgil and NYSTTI in Naivasha, on dates specified in their calling letters.

The recruits will undergo six months of intensive non-combat paramilitary training.

NYS noted that orphans who meet the eligibility criteria will be given priority, provided they can submit proper documentation, such as death certificates or burial permits for their parents.

The service also encourages persons with disabilities to apply if they are capable of handling the physical training.

Applicants with exceptional sports skills or talents will also be given consideration.

NYS emphasized that corruption will not be tolerated, and any attempts to bribe or influence the recruitment process will result in disqualification and possible legal action. Such cases should be reported immediately to the Commandant General at 020-2400129.

“Canvassing” refers to seeking favor from elected officials, senior officers, or other influential individuals outside the official application process.
