Police Hunt for Nakuru Pastor Who Stabbed Wife, Church Disowns Him

Police in Nakuru are on the lookout for Pastor Elias Njau of the Jesus Crusaders Ministry Church, who is accused of stabbing his partner, Florence Wanjiku, at their home in Kiamunyi, Rongai Sub-County, on Thursday night.

According to reports, Njau fled the scene after the violent attack, leaving Wanjiku critically injured. Neighbors intervened to protect the couple’s two young children, aged two and ten, who Njau is said to have also threatened during the incident.

Wanjiku, a business partner of Njau in real estate, is currently hospitalized under tight security as her family expresses concerns about further retaliation. Police have recorded her statement, and investigations are ongoing.

The assault occurred just hours after President William Ruto condemned the escalating cases of gender-based violence and femicide in the country. Nakuru County’s Chief Officer for Gender, Gladys Kamuren, has called for patience as authorities pursue the suspect. She emphasized the need for peaceful conflict resolution, stating, “Now we have a woman fighting for her life and a fugitive on the run.”

Meanwhile, senior leaders from Jesus Crusaders Ministry have distanced the church from Njau’s actions, reaffirming their commitment to family values. They stressed that the actions of individual members do not reflect the teachings or mission of the church, and they have urged that justice be served.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many calling for justice for Wanjiku as the case continues to trend across platforms like Facebook and X.
