Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo amassed over 5.8 million subscribers just hours after launching his YouTube channel on Wednesday.
The UR.Cristiano channel quickly uploaded 11 videos and seven YouTube Shorts within its first five hours of operation.
In the channel’s introductory video, Ronaldo is joined by his wife Gio. The video begins with Ronaldo saying, “I have a big surprise for you. The new YouTube channel UR Cristiano.”
He then adds, “Today I have Gio with me, Cheeky boy!” before the couple participates in a trivia game.
Currently, Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr, having entered his third season with the Saudi Pro League team. He joined the Saudi club in January of last year and was the league’s top scorer last season, with 35 goals in 31 games.
He will now play alongside former Premier League star Sadio Mane and ex-Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema, who will be with Al-Ittihad.
