A manhunt has been launched after two boxes containing human remains were found at the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, England.
Police were called after a man carrying suitcases was seen acting suspiciously on the bridge just before midnight on Wednesday.
Officers arrived less than ten minutes later and the man was gone, leaving his suitcase behind.
A short time later, a second box was found nearby.
Police said their “immediate priority” was to find the man and identify human remains.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was taken to the bridge in a taxi, police said.
The taxi driver has been arrested and is assisting the officers.
Roads surrounding the bridge, as well as surrounding footpaths, remain closed as investigators examine the area. They are expected to close it all day.
A police helicopter was seen above the bridge on Wednesday night.
