Former Radio Presenter Joyce Gituro Sworn In as Machakos Chief Officer

Joyce Gituro, a former radio presenter, was sworn in on Monday as the Chief Officer of Public Communications and E-government in Machakos County.

Her appointment followed a vetting and approval process by the Machakos County Assembly.

The swearing-in ceremony, attended by Governor Wavinya Ndeti, also saw two other chief officers take their oaths: Francis Munyambu for Inspectorate and Emergency Services, and Dr. Juliana Ndunge for Sewerage, Sanitation, and Waste Management.

Governor Ndeti expressed her best wishes, invoking God’s guidance and wisdom for their service to the people of Machakos County in realizing the county’s priorities of “Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni.”

Their appointments were officially gazetted by the governor on June 21, 2024.

Gituro had a distinguished career spanning over 15 years at Royal Media Services, starting as an On-Air Host and progressing to roles such as Transmission Controller at Radio Citizen and Brand Manager.

She later joined Mediamax Network in 2018 as Head of Programs overseeing six radio stations, before leaving in 2019.

In 2020, she joined Radio Jambo as the host of the Sunday show ‘Injili Jumapili’ (Gospel Sunday), and subsequently transitioned to focus on business ventures.
