Newly Appointed Family Bank Chairman Francis Gitau Dies

Francis Gitau Mungai, recently appointed as the new chair of Family Bank, has tragically passed away just three weeks after assuming the role, succeeding Wilfred Kiboro.

The announcement of his death while undergoing treatment in the United States was made by the Family Bank board of directors and management.

Before joining the board, Architect Mungai had a longstanding relationship with Family Bank, initially as a customer and later as an architect starting from 1996. He made substantial contributions to the bank’s growth and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Architect Mungai brought over 30 years of professional experience in architecture and contract management to his roles.

He co-founded Aaki Consultants, Architects, and Urban Designers and held leadership positions at prominent firms including Triad Architects in Nairobi and Urban Innovation Group (UIG) in Los Angeles.
