History has been made by the Junior Starlets as they become the first Kenyan national team to qualify for a World Cup.

Their achievement comes after a convincing 5-0 aggregate victory over Burundi in the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The crucial match took place on June 16, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Kenya, having already secured a three-goal advantage from the first leg in Ethiopia, took an early lead when Marion Serenge scored in the 17th minute.
Valerie Nekesa extended their advantage just four minutes later, effectively sealing Kenya’s historic qualification.
Throughout the qualifiers, the Junior Starlets showcased impressive defensive and offensive skills, keeping a clean sheet while scoring a total of eight goals.

This achievement grants them a place in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in the Dominican Republic.
