Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has countered UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala’s cautionary message to politicians engaging in premature campaign activities.
Shortly after Malala’s statement was released to the press, Sudi subtly addressed it via his X platform.
Malala had also admonished certain Cabinet Secretaries for their involvement in political affairs, which contravenes the law mandating them to remain politically neutral.
“I have noted with concern the engagement of some Cabinet Secretaries in political affairs, contrary to legal stipulations requiring their political neutrality,” he remarked.
Speaking to reporters Wednesday morning at JKIA upon returning from a diplomatic trip to China, Malala reiterated that if Cabinet Secretaries wish to actively participate in politics, they ought to resign from their governmental positions.
He emphasized that their primary focus should always be on serving the Kenyan populace.
While specifically naming leaders like Sudi, Malala characterized their recent actions as not only undermining party cohesion but also demonstrating disrespect towards the leadership they vowed to uphold.
“Consider this a firm warning; refrain from such behavior immediately. If it persists, the party will take disciplinary measures against you,” he cautioned.
