Machakos Family Demands Justice as MKU Student Found Dead in Thika Residence

Tragedy struck a family from Machakos as they mourn the loss of their daughter, Faith Musembi, a 19-year-old student at Mount Kenya University (MKU), whose lifeless body was discovered in her rented room at Pilot Estate within Hospital Ward in Thika.

According to Faith’s distraught father, Boniface Musembi, the family received a distressing call from an unknown individual demanding a ransom of Ksh.20,000 for Faith’s release, using her own phone.

Despite complying with the demand in a desperate attempt to save their daughter, Faith’s father was met with indifference when he reported the matter to Thika Police Station. Authorities allegedly dismissed it as a ploy by the victim or her acquaintances.

Undeterred, Musembi sought assistance from MKU and tirelessly pursued leads until he discovered his daughter’s lifeless body after breaking into her residence.

Shockingly, the phone used by the suspected perpetrators remained active, aiding in the investigation.

Further revelations emerged when Faith’s uncle, Joseph Kinaka, engaged with the individual holding Faith’s phone, only to be confronted with demands for a higher ransom and grisly evidence of Faith’s demise.

Subsequent autopsy results pointed to fatal bleeding, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding Faith’s death.

Described as hardworking and disciplined by her cousin Dominic Makau, Faith’s family is now demanding swift and thorough investigations to bring her killers to justice.
