The tree-planting initiative in Kenya on May 10, 2024, was part of a nationwide effort to combat deforestation, mitigate climate change, and preserve biodiversity.
Led by the Vincent Munyoki Foundation in Kitui West Constituency, over 10,000 trees were planted with a remarkable 99% survival rate for previously planted trees, highlighting effective conservation efforts.

Munyoki stated that Kenya’s ambitious goal of planting 15 billion trees within a decade demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

Events like the National Tree Growing Day reflect ongoing efforts to foster environmental consciousness and participation at all levels of society.
“By planting trees and nurturing the environment, communities in Kenya are not only contributing to the global fight against climate change but also strengthening collective responsibility and pride in the country’s natural heritage.” Vincent said.

“Each tree planted brings Kenya closer to realizing a healthier, more resilient environment for future generations,” the youthful leader added.
