Jane Waigwe Kimani, the spouse of former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, along with her brother Solomon Mutura Kimani, have been apprehended on suspicion of involvement in corruption amounting to Ksh.140 million within Murang’a County.

The arrest of the two individuals was confirmed by Eric Ngumbi, spokesperson for the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), who stated that they were taken into custody on Wednesday and subsequently presented before the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court for legal proceedings.

Both Jane Waigwe Kimani and Solomon Mutura Kimani serve as directors of Value View Ltd, a company allegedly implicated as a conduit in the fraudulent activities under investigation.
Meanwhile, EACC continues its pursuit of the remaining six suspects linked to the case, which includes the former Governor, who failed to comply with summons to appear before the commission on Wednesday morning.
