The government has released a list of areas expected to be susceptible to flooding as the long rains approach.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, in a statement issued on Wednesday, highlighted regions at risk of flooding, including areas along lakes and rivers, low-lying regions, and places with inadequate drainage systems.

In Western Kenya, communities residing along lakes and rivers in Homa Bay, Siaya, Busia, Nyando, Nyakach, and Muhoroni are anticipated to face flooding.
Additionally, low-lying areas such as Migori, Kakamega, and Vihiga are at risk of flooding should there be an increase in daily precipitation levels beyond the current norms.
