In a strategic move to uplift the Boda Boda sector, Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s administration unveiled modern Boda Boda sheds in Kitui.
The launch underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing the vital role played by Boda Bodas in both local and national economies, as highlighted by County Minister for Roads and Public Works, Engineer Reuben Itiko.
During the launch, Engineer Itiko emphasized the initiative’s goal of improving working conditions and safety standards for Boda Boda operators. “By equipping these sheds with essential features and providing training on road safety measures, we aim to enhance the livelihoods and safety of those involved in the Boda Boda sector,” stated Itiko.

The event witnessed enthusiastic support and participation from various officials and stakeholders, further underlining the significance of the initiative. Among those present were Chief Officer for Transport and Boda Boda Sub-sector, Peter Ketonya Musya, Kitui County Deputy Speaker, Christopher Nzilu, MCA for Matinyani Ward, Silvester Munyalo, and technical experts from the ministry.
The launch took place at Ithookwe and Soweto shopping centers in Kyangwithya West Ward, Kitui Central Subcounty, and Matinyani Ward, Kitui West Subcounty, respectively. The strategic placement of these sheds aims to provide convenience and accessibility for Boda Boda operators across different areas within the county.

This initiative marks a significant step towards not only improving the efficiency and safety of Boda Boda operations but also in recognizing and supporting the crucial role they play in the socioeconomic fabric of the community.
With the launch of these modern sheds, Governor Malombe’s administration signals its unwavering dedication to fostering growth and prosperity within the Boda Boda sector in Sammary and beyond.
