Authorities, including the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), are looking into the death of Samuel Njuguna, a robbery with violence suspect, who collapsed and died in police cells at Githurai Kimbo police station while awaiting a court appearance.
The incident was reported by fellow detainees, leading to immediate transport to Ruiru Level Four Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
IPOA officials have been notified to participate in the inquiry, as mandated by law for deaths in police custody.
Separately, a 45-year-old man, George Owuori, was found dead in his Sunton, Kasarani residence, prompting a police investigation.
In Kahawa West, Nairobi, authorities are probing the murder of a minor, allegedly stabbed by her ailing mother, with ongoing investigations to determine the motive.
