20 Arrested, 26 Bikes Seized Following the Kitengela Car Stoning

Twenty individuals have been apprehended in relation to an episode in Kitengela where a car was pelted with stones after allegedly hitting a pedestrian.

The arrests were made by the Officer in Charge of Station (OCS) Kitengela during an operation on January 19, 2024. The suspects are currently being held at Kitengela police station in Isinya sub-county, Kajiado, and are expected to face charges of malicious damage and assault.

The incident occurred on Thursday when the vehicle, reportedly involved in a hit-and-run, was chased by motorbike riders in the area until it was intercepted near Enkare.

A video clip depicts the irate riders protesting by pelting the vehicle with stones, resulting in shattered windows. The female driver abandoned the car and fled the scene. The Nissan car, displaying extensive damage, has been towed to Kitengela police station.

The driver was scheduled to appear in court on Friday, as conveyed by senior officers at the police station. The Area Police Commander, Patrick Manyasi, declined to provide comments on the matter.
