During the dispute, Herman is believed to have been attacked while on another vessel, with the suspects fleeing immediately afterward. Authorities confirmed he suffered a fatal stab wound to the abdomen.
His body was later moved to St. Camillus Mission Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem as investigations continue, with no arrests made so far.
In a separate case in Bungoma County, police are searching for a suspect linked to the death of 39-year-old David Wanjala Wafula following a disagreement over an alleged stolen bicycle.
The incident occurred on the night of April 15, 2026, when Wafula reportedly argued with his neighbour before being assaulted with a wooden stick. He was treated at Mechimeru Model Health Centre and discharged, but later died on his way home.
His body was taken to Bungoma Referral Hospital mortuary, while police intensify efforts to track down the suspect. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
