APS Bomet Snatch Narrow Win Over Ulinzi Stars in KPL

APS Bomet secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Ulinzi Stars on Saturday, lifting themselves out of the relegation zone in the FKF Premier League.

The win was crucial for APS Bomet, who entered the match aiming to end a five-game winless streak. Both teams were level on 26 points heading into the clash.

APS Bomet started brightly, with Hansel Ochieng nearly opening the scoring in the sixth minute with a header that went just wide. The visitors maintained pressure in the opening 20 minutes, with Ochieng and Festus Kipkemoi coming closest to breaking the deadlock.

Ulinzi Stars responded midway through the first half. Paul Okoth intercepted play and fed Staphod Odhiambo at the edge of the box, but the resulting shot narrowly missed.

APS Bomet would eventually take the lead just before halftime. In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Anthony Naibei scored to give the visitors a priceless advantage heading into the break.

In the second half, APS Bomet focused on defending their lead, determined to move above the relegation zone at Ulinzi’s expense. Despite sustained pressure from Ulinzi, the home side could not find an equaliser.

APS Bomet held on to claim a narrow 1-0 win, ending their winless run. The victory lifted them to 15th place with 25 points, just below Ulinzi Stars in the league standings.
